Hello everyone,
We hope you have all had a great weekend with family and friends.
Last week we enjoyed listening to the different variations of Shark in the Park. We listened to Shark in the dark, Shark in the park and Shark in the park on a windy day. We were great at joining in with the repeated refrains.
On Monday morning a group of children made shark biscuits to bring home. Another group of children went to PE and played a variety of games which involved moving around in different ways, listening and following instructions and negotiating spaces On Monday afternoon we played the underwater counting game on the interactive tv. Here is a link if you would like to play it home Counting underwater game.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we had great fun exploring and experimenting using the torches in a dark room. We made shark shadows along with other shadows. We found sharks which were hiding around the room with our torches. We talked about what we saw and did. On Tuesday afternoon we went on a shape hunt around the school grounds.
On Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning we began creating our Christmas Cards. More information will follow this week about how to order these. All money raised with support POWSA.
On Wednesday morning a group of us had PE with Colleen and Lauren and we played a variety of games which involved moving around in different ways, listening and following instructions and negotiating spaces. A group of us went to the care home for a sing song, story and to eat shark biscuits which we baked for the residents. In the afternoon we went to the park and had great fun exploring all the playground equipment. We did lots of swinging, sliding, climbing and balancing.
On Thursday we made an obstacle course in the pre-school and had a great time timing how long it took to do the obstacle course. We went and visited the book fair and enjoyed listening to some of the new stories there. We also went to soft play. We did some shape printing.
On Friday we finished off our Christmas cards, self portraits and had a great play outside. We also made cheese straws for snack.
Throughout the week we have enjoyed exploring the object tray and play eye spy with the objects along with guessing what is missing from the tray. We have enjoyed playing with the small world diggers and wooden blocks. Also playing with the small world playmobil park. We have been busy using our real life experiences to play in the role play home corner. On the finger frenzy table we have been using spoons topick up marbles to put in different sized containers. This has developed our hand eye co-ordiantion. We have been busy constructing with the Duplo, magnetic lego, straws. and octagons. In the playdough we rolled out the playdough using the rolling pin and used the shark cutters. In the number area we have been exploring the weighing scales.
