Hello everyone.....



Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a wonderful half term and we are all really looking forward to seeing the children this week for a exploring, fun and exciting half term.


This week we are going to be sharing some pumpkin stories in particular Pumpkin Soup. We are going to be collecting our pumpkins from the garden in the wheelbarrows. We will be using hammers to bang golf tees into them. We are also going to be making pumpkin soup in the kitchen. We will be practicing our cutting, stirring  skills. We will also be exploring the insides of the pumpkins. Talking about what we can see and what it feels like.  We will be doing a variety of pumpkin activities throughout the week. 

Home learning

- Can you have a go at putting on your own shoes?
-How about going on a puddle jumping walk? How high can you jump? Can you find the biggest and smallest puddle?
Can you share a story under torch light?

Please do share photos and WOW of your home learning.

Please use the normal entrance and exit route from Tuesday as the playground surface is now complete. 

On Tuesday and Thursday evenings we have our postponed parents evening. Same days and times as you booked before. If these are no longer convenient please do come and ask for a date, time and day which is good for you.

Hello everyone.....

 


Hello everyone,

We hope you have had a lovely weekend enjoying this amazing Autumn weather. 

Last week we have enjoyed listening to a variety of Autumn stories and talking about the season of Autumn. We have enjoyed singing a few Autumn songs. On Monday we enjoyed the story of We're going on a leaf hunt and after snack we went on our own leaf hunt and acted out the story. In the afternoon we used the leaves we collected to make our own leaf crowns. 
On Tuesday a group of children had PE with Mr Treble and we played  a couple of new games. We played cup and cone. We also played fruit salad. When Mr Treble said a fruit we had to run to a certain place in the room. We also played our favourite game of sleepy pirates. We also did some bubble painting with Autumn colours. We used straws to blow bubbles in the paint and then covered our paper with the bubbles. In the afternoon we found the sycamore tree seeds and experimented what happened when you throw them up in the air. We found out they twirled around like helicopters. 
On Wednesday morning we went on a Autumn Scavenger hunt and we ticked off on our list of objects what we found, heard and saw. 
On Thursday morning we created stuck leaves onto our bubble paintings to make a pictures. In The afternoon we did some conker rolling down the tubes and watch what number our conker landed on. 
Throughout the week we have been busy creating our Christmas cards to send to the printers. More information will follow soon about how to order these.
Throughout the week we have enjoyed playing with the wood block centre with wild animals. We have enjoyed making habitats for the animals and then playing with it. We have been busy making Autumn potions in the water tray with green glittery water, leaves and apples. We have enjoyed playing with the WOW farm and cars and garage. 
Also we have been busy creating with the Lego toolo by making diggers.

This week we continue to  explore Autumn with a variety of stories, songs and activities. Please do bring in anything that reminds you of Autumn. We are also going to be swimming this week. Don't forget to bring your swimming kit on the day you are due to swim. 

Home learning

-Can you go on a walk with your family and find natural objects that remind us of Autumn?

-Can you make a picture using the objects you found on your walk?

-Can you help with a small job at home e.g. setting the table for tea?

This Friday is Autumn Fest from 5.00pm-7.30pm and tickets can be purchased from the main school office. Hope to see lots of you there.

Hello everyone,


We hope you have all had a wonderful weekend enjoying the glorious autumn sunshine. 

Last week we had a great week continuing with the theme of farm, food and faith. We enjoyed listening to a range of farm stories including what the ladybird heard, Farmer Charlie. We practiced Old Mcdonald and Dingle Dangle scarecrow for Harvest Assembly on Friday.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday small groups of children made yummy apple muffins to bring home and also for the French cafe. On Monday afternoon we made apple boats and explored sinking and floating. We made our own sails for the boats and explored what happened when you left them whole, cut in half and quarters. We also made some runs down the bank for apple rolling. On Tuesday some of us had PE with Mr Treble and we played a couple of new games. We played cup and cone. We also played fruit salad. When Mr Treble said a fruit we had to run to a certain place in the room. We also played our favourite game of sleepy pirates. On Tuesday afternoon we did some tractor wheel and apple printing on large sheets of paper. On Thursday morning we made shakers using popcorn, rice, corn and pasta. We explored the different sounds they made and played with our shakers outside.  On Wednesday afternoon we made dragon potions using bubbles, water, powder paint, glitter and natural object we found. 
On Friday morning we went to Harvest Assembly and we were amazing at using our listening ears and did a great job at singing our songs. 
Throughout the week we have been choosing a library book to bring home in our new library bag to share with our families. These can come back when you are ready and the children will choose a different book to bring home.
Last week Jennie Jigsaw has been talking to us in group time about kind hands. 
We have enjoyed this week constructing with the stickle bricks and wooden blocks to make roads for the cars. We have been busy mark making in the flour and making tracks in the playdough using the tractors.

On Saturday at 10.00am- 11.30am we have got stay and play on. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there.

Hello everyone....

 



Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a great weekend with lots of puddle jumping walks. Last week we enjoyed listening to a variety of farming/harvest stories including the Scarecrow Wedding, The enormous Turnip, tractor stories and lots more. 
On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday a small group of children went to the school orchard to collect apples and pears and to the chicken to collect eggs. They made some yummy apple muffins with the ingredients. We hope you all enjoyed them. 
On Monday the children went over to school to look at the John Deere tractor. We talked all about shapes, colours, about the different parts of the tractor and the job it does. 
On Tuesday we had PE with Mr Treble and played some great games including stuck in the mud, the bunny hoop game and traffic lights. 
In the afternoon and on Wednesday we did some vegetable printing. We talked about the different types of vegetables and how they grow e.g. under the ground, on a tree etc. 
On Thursday and Friday we did some threading using a needle and wool and threading paper pears and apples. We used a pincer grip to hold the needle and how to go in and out to thread them on to the wool. 
On Friday afternoon we went to the farm. We were all amazing and had so much fun. We were great at walking all the way to the farm and it was so fun to jump in lots of puddles. We met Farmer Hazel who showed us around the farm. We saw horses, pigs, Cows, Chickens, sheep, combine harvester, tractors and lots more. We enjoyed eating our snack in the farms barn classroom. 
Throughout the week we have enjoyed sorting the plastic fruits into colours and counting them. We have been busy filling the peg boards with pegs using a pincer grip. We have enjoyed playing alongside our friends with the small world allotment. We have enjoyed feeling and mark making in the oats. We have been busy playing with the farm and tractors on the floor. At the play dough we have been making tracks using the tractors and creating fields of animals.

This week we will be continuing with Farm,Food and Faith fortnight and have lots of adventures and exploring to do. We are going to continue with our cooking, making wooden spoon scarecrows, making shakers using corn kernels and lots more. 

Home learning

-At home have a look at all the different foods you have and talk about where they come from. Take a picture of your favourite foods and bring in to pre-school. 

-Can you cook with your favourite foods to make a yummy meal. Take a photo and bring it in. 

-Share a farming story or song at home with your family.

On Monday it is dress like a farmer day. Children welcome to come into pre-school dressed like a farmer.

On Friday it is POW Harvest, MULTI-FAITH AND NO FAITH HARVEST CELEBRATION EYFS ASSEMBLY is at 11.00-11.45. The children in on Friday will be singing two songs. Children can bring in the below donation during the week.
