Hello Everyone....

 Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a great weekend with family and friends. It was lovely to see lots of you at Stay and Play on Saturday

Last week we enjoyed listening to the different variations of Shark in the Park. We listened to Shark in the dark, Shark in the park and Shark in the park on a windy day and Oh no, Shark in the Snow. We were great at joining in with the repeated refrains.

On Monday group of children went to PE and completed an obstacle course that included jumping with two feet on the floor and from height, balancing on a wide and a narrow beam and balancing across stepping stones of different heights.  We talked about using our arms to help us and whether it was easier to balance by moving quickly or slowly. We tried hard to make a line and wait for our turn and we were great at cheering on our friends.  We also did lots of sweeping up the leaves outside in the garden. On Monday afternoon we played shape Bingo. We are getting really good at recognising a square, circle, triangle and rectangle.

On Tuesday morning we made shark pizza ready for our afternoon snack or to take home. The children were amazing at trying new foods in particular olives. In the afternoon we went on a Autumn scavenger hunt around school.

On Wednesday morning a group of us had PE with Colleen and Lauren  and completed an obstacle course that included jumping with two feet on the floor and from height, balancing on a wide and a narrow beam and balancing across stepping stones of different heights.  We talked about using our arms to help us and whether it was easier to balance by moving quickly or slowly. We tried hard to make a line and wait for our turn and we were great at cheering on our friends. A group of us went to the care home for a sing song, story and to eat chocolate cake which the residents made this week. A group of children went on a leaf hunt and sorted them into big, medium and small. In the afternoon we did some leaf printing.

On Thursday we did some bubble painting using autumn colours. We were great at making bubbles by blowing. In the afternoon we continued with our Autumn scavenger hunt around the school grounds.

On Friday morning we did some leaf threading. We were great at threading back to front using a needle and wool. In the afternoon we had great fun doing some conker rolling down the tubes and pipes.

Throughout the week we have enjoyed exploring the object tray and play eye spy with the objects along with guessing what is missing from the tray.  We have enjoyed playing with the small world diggers and wooden blocks. Also playing with the small world playmobil park. We have been busy using our real life experiences to play in the role play home corner. On the finger frenzy table we have been using scissors to cut up leaves. This has developed our hand eye co-ordiantion and how to hold and use scissors. We have been busy constructing with the mobilo, wooden arches, transparent shapes and wooden dinosaursIn the playdough we rolled out the playdough using the rolling pin and used the shark cutters. In the number area we have beenxploring making towers using unifix cubes.

We continue to be Respectful Raya which is one of our Building learning Powers. Here is some information about Respectful Raya:-

For the next fortnight we are going to be exploring food, faith and farming. We are going to be sharing lots of stories about this topic at group time. We have got some visitors coming into preschool. We will be cooking some yummy foods using eggs and apples. At snack time we will have a variety of foods to eat and will be talking about where each of the foods come from along with lots of other activities to support our learning.

It was lovely to see you all at the parent information session. Here is a link to the recording. When you have watched the video please let Julia Know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQ1s3k04CzU If you have any questions please do come and ask or email.

If you could provide us with a clearly marked water bottle that we can keep at preschool all year. This way we can ensure the children have access to fresh drinking water throughout the days with us. We find the children drink more from their own bottles. Can all drinks bottles be able to be placed in the dishwasher.

Every week there will be a blog about everything we have done during the week, what is happening at pre-school in the next week, home learning you may like to do and notices. This is normally published on a Sunday evening.

We place all lunch boxes in the fridge, please label lunch boxes and drinks bottles with your child's name. If you would like to order your child a hot lunch, please speak to a member of staff and Caroline will arrange a hot lunch code for you.

It would great if all pre-school t-shirts and jumpers can be named.

On Monday afternoon at 3.10pm we invite you to come to story time. Please come to the door which you drop off and collect from. We also have stay and Play on saturday from 10-11.30. Hope to see you there.
