Hello everyone,
Welcome back to the new school year with lots of fun and exciting exploring and learning. We have had a great two days back at Pre-school and the children have settled in really well. Over the two days we have been exploring our new classroom through play and learning the routines of the day. It has been lovely getting to know the children and we are very excited for the year ahead. We have shared some stories at group time and singing songs. We have been to soft play, Cosmic kids yoga and played some games in the hall. We met Respectful Raya which is one of our Building learning Powers. Here is some information about Respectful Raya:-
This week we will continue focusing on settling back into Preschool in Year 2 and it will be a time for the children, us and yourselves to get to know us. We will be having lots of fun playing and exploring together. Also this week we will be painting our self portraits for our board. Also we will be talking about ourselves and intrests. We will be playing some games involving taking turns.
The adults who will be working within the Year 2 classroom is myself, Colleen, Sharon and Lauren. Some afternoon Zoe and James and Lauren James will be joining us.
Home learning
We will also be talking about what you have all been doing in the holidays and if you have some pictures or writing you would like to bring in, please do. We will be sharing these during group time. Also please do bring in some WOW'S.
Notices
If you could provide us with a clearly marked water bottle that we can keep at preschool all year. This way we can ensure the children have access to fresh drinking water throughout the days with us. We find the children drink more from their own bottles. Can all drinks bottles be able to be placed in the dishwasher.
Every week there will be a blog about everything we have done during the week, what is happening at pre-school in the next week, home learning you may like to do and notices. This is normally published on a Sunday evening.
We place all lunch boxes in the fridge, please label lunch boxes and drinks bottles with your child's name. If you would like to order your child a hot lunch, please speak to a member of staff and Caroline will arrange a hot lunch code for you.
It would great if all pre-school t-shirts and jumpers can be named.
I will be doing an information session about what we do in Year 2 on Monday 9th September at 7.30pm in the Preschool hall e.g. book bags, changing bags, Keyworkers, SCARF, Sounds and Letters,EYFS, trips, swimming etc. Hope to see lots of you there, as there will be lots of useful information to support your child.
Please bring any WOW's for our WOW board you have and if you need some WOW slips, please pick some up from the notice board outside.

Applying for Reception Place to start in September 2025
You can apply for a reception place from 1 September 2024.
The closing date for applications is 15 January 2025.
Powsa Events
On Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in the main school staff room come and join POWSA to find out some of the events for the year and how you can help. If you would like any further information please come and speak to Julia.
