Hello everyone,

We hope you have all  had a wonderful weekend with the glorious sunshine we have had.

Last week we had a great week listening to a variety of seaside stories. Throughout the week we have been busy creating our own salt dough sea creatures/mermaids. We used a variety of tools and techniques to create them. On Tuesday afternoon we explored painting with oil and watercolours. A group had PE with Mr Treble and we played lots of games with balls and practiced our ball skills including throwing, kicking and catching a variety of balls.
On Wednesday we watched the story of the lighthouse keepers picnic and made some cakes to have with our picnic on Thursday. On Thursday morning we had a special visitor come to pre-school to do ballet with us. We all really enjoyed it. On Thursday afternoon we made sandwiches and had a picnic of sandwiches, cakes and strawberries for snack. On Friday morning we used the NOW PRESS Play headphones and did an under the sea drama. It was amazing fun and we loved it.
On Friday afternoon we enjoyed playing on the play-trail and the yellow slide followed by a very yummy ice lolly for snack.

Hello everyone....

Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a lovely weekend despite the rainy weather.  The pre-school team would like to say a big thank you once again for our YC'S vouchers which we used this weekend to have a lovely mexican evening as a team. Enjoy the football this evening.

Last week we enjoyed a range of dragon stories during group time. On Monday morning we had a surprise parcel left at the front door for the preschool children. The children were great at working together to carry the large parcel down to the classroom. We spent time guessing what might be in the box. We opened it very carefully to find a large dragon inside with a message. We created a variety of pictures for him and making him some food in the mud kitchen. In the afternoon we made crowns and wands.
On Tuesday we made magical mud with bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and powder paint. It was great fun seeing what happened and playing with it.  We also made our own dragons using paper plates on Tuesday and Thursday. On Wednesday we made our own castle out of cardboard boxes around the tree house. On Friday we made our own England flags with different media and sticks. We also made a large England flag using our handprints and had the opportunity to have a face paint of the England flag. We went over to school for the afternoon for a street dance and watched the Year 4 samba concert followed by eating a delicious Mr Blobby England cake. We then danced away to some football songs. It was an amazing afternoon and enjoyed by all. On Friday morning, Mrs Johnson came to see us all for a play and read us a lovely story at group time.
Throughout the week we have enjoyed exploring mixing colours and seeing what colours you can create from mixing two colours. We have created some great models using the transparent building blocks. We have enjoyed the small world castle with dragons, knights and princesses.

Here are some pictures of the week....

This week we will be joining in with the Art and mindfulness inspired week with the theme of the seaside. We have got lots of exciting activities planned.

Hello everyone...

Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had an amazing weekend.

Last week we had a great time exploring a variety of sports. On Monday we watched the extreme mountain bike show. The children enjoyed watching the amazing stunts including jumping on to the top of the van roof. When we got back to pre-school we made our own ramps and jumps which the children enjoyed using the balance bikes on. On Monday, Thursday and Friday the children loved their swimming session. It was lovely to see all the children so confident in the water. We had so much fun playing and splashing in the water. On Tuesday we had a mini sports day during our PE session with Mr Treble. We did some team games including egg and spoon race, running race, balancing a bean bag on head race and a relay the race. The children worked great as a team, taking turns and following instructions. We all got a medal at the end. On Tuesday afternoon we played football and scored lots of goals. We also did some ball marbling with paint. There were some great ball skills. On Wednesday morning we had the photographer in to take our class photo. There will be more information to follow on how to order a class photo. After our photo we enjoyed playing on the playtrail and climbing in the trees. We have some great tree climbers. In the afternoon we learnt how to play uni hock. On Friday afternoon we had dance day and we were all amazing at taking part and doing the actions to the songs. Throughout the week we have been doing our sponsored bike-a-thon. It was amazing to see how confident the children were on their scooters and bikes and they did a great number of laps each. Certificates for this will be coming home next week. Thank you all for the sponsorship money. A couple of groups went to the post box this week to post their special picture.
A group of children had great fun exploring the planks of wood and making see saws. First they used themselves on each end and then experimented what happened when you put a ball on the end and jump and then they used a bucket of water on the end which they loved finding out what happened.
Here are some pictures of the week....

This week  we are going to be exploring dragons through a variety of activities. We will be sharing some dragon themed stories throughout the week. Also we are going to do some dragon science, make our own shields, make a castle outside and lots more based on the children's interests. If you have any large boxes at home we would love them.

Can you make a dragon out of different materials?
