Hello everyone

Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a wonderful weekend enjoying the glorious autumn sunshine.

Last week we had a great week continuing with the theme of farm, food and faith. We enjoyed listening to a range of farm stories including what the ladybird heard, Farmer Charlie. We practiced Old Mcdonald and Dingle Dangle scarecrow for Harvest Assembly on Friday.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday small groups of children made yummy apple muffins to bring home and also for the French cafe. On Monday afternoon we made apple boats and explored sinking and floating. We made our own sails for the boats and explored what happened when you left them whole, cut in half and quarters. We also made some runs down the bank for apple rolling. On Tuesday some of us had PE with Mr Treble and we played a couple of new games. We played cup and cone. We also played fruit salad. When Mr Treble said a fruit we had to run to a certain place in the room. We also played our favourite game of sleepy pirates. On Tuesday afternoon we did some tractor wheel and apple printing on large sheets of paper. On Thursday morning we made shakers using popcorn, rice, corn and pasta. We explored the different sounds they made and played with our shakers outside.  On Wednesday afternoon we made dragon potions using bubbles, water, powder paint, glitter and natural object we found.
On Friday morning we went to Harvest Assembly and we were amazing at using our listening ears and did a great job at singing our songs.
Throughout the week we have been choosing a library book to bring home in our new library bag to share with our families. These can come back when you are ready and the children will choose a different book to bring home.
Last week Jennie Jigsaw has been talking to us in group time about kind hands.
We have enjoyed this week constructing with the stickle bricks and wooden blocks to make roads for the cars. We have been busy mark making in the flour and making tracks in the playdough using the tractors.
Here are some pictures of our week....

This week we be exploring Autumn with a variety of stories, songs and activities. Please do bring in anything that reminds you of Autumn. We are going to be making some leaf crowns, going on a leaf hunt, conker rolling, leaf printing and lots more.
