Hello everyone....

Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a wonderful half term full of lots of fun with family and friends. We look forward to hearing all about the children's adventures.

The last week of term we had great week continuing to explore different countries along with a couple of visitors. On Monday we paired up with Year 3 and made our own wind turbines to light up a light.
On Tuesday Sofia's mum came in and talked about Egypt. We learnt lots of amazing facts and tasted some Egyptian foods. We also did some Egyptian food cooking with Sofia's mum. We really enjoyed trying new foods. On Wednesday Laureline's mum came in and talked about France and we learnt some great facts. We also learnt how to count and colours in French. In the afternoon we looked at the Eiffel Tower and then used a variety of construction to make our models of the Eiffel Tower.
On Thursday we met Thomas the Gorilla and in the afternoon we had great fun playing hide and seek with a gorilla. We also did a drama workshop with Thomas the Gorilla and a group of children did a green screen film. We all enjoyed watching the film we made.
Throughout the week groups of children have loved swimming and it is lovely to see how confident they have become in the water.
We have really enjoyed finding the plastic coloured worms in the compost and sorting them into colours and size. We have also been measuring them using the rulers. We have organised them in size order.
When we are outside we love watching and waving at the bin lorry and we have been interested to learn all about different types of rubbish and which things we can recycle.
We have been busy creating habitats with a variety of media including playdough, broccoli, leaves, sticks, wild animals, logs.

We have learnt the picture names for the Read write inc cards M-Maisie next to the moutain,A-Apple,S-Snake, d-dinosaur, t-tower, I-insect, n-net, p-pirate, g-girl, o-orange, C-caterpillar, K-kangroo, u-umbrella, b-boot, F-flower, E-egg l-leg, h-horse, r-robot, j-jack in box, v-vulture, y-yak, w-worm, z-zip, q-queen, x-exercise .
