Hello everyone.....

Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a great weekend enjoying some blue sky and sunshine. We love seeing all the adventures you have been getting upto.

Last week we continued to explore the story of The gingerbread Man which the children have really enjoyed and our amazing at recalling the whole story and refrains.

On Monday morning our last group of children made their gingerbread man to bring home and decorate. The children made me one and I had it for lunch. It was delicious. In the afternoon we did the story of The gingerbread man on NOW PRESS PLAY. The children were great at acting out the story and following the instructions.

On Tuesday a group of children had PE with Mr Treble and used the climbing frame equipment with ladders. The children became really confident at climbing the equipment and challenging themselves to see how high they could climb. In the afternoon we made our own gingerbread man finger puppets and used the puppet theatre to recall the story.

On Wednesday we used all the great junk modelling resources to make a boat and we tested them out to see if they sank or floated to carry the gingerbread man across the river. There were lots of amazing boats made using different materials. In the afternoon we played on the interactive whiteboard the gingerbread number game. On Thursday morning we worked in groups making a large gingerbread man by drawing around a friends body and then painting it. It was great fun and we painted with brushes and our hands.

In the afternoon we made a bridge outside for the gingerbread man to cross. We had to think about what we could use to make a bridge. We were amazing critical thinkers and were able to adapt our bridge by making it taller. We then had to work out how to get on the bridge. Great team work. The children all challenge themselves to cross the river and were great at balancing along the planks. It was so much fun.

On Friday we made a story map in groups of The gingerbread man story. We were amazing at recalling the story and drawing pictures of what happened. In The afternoon we tidied the garden by sweeping up all the leaves. The children were great helpers and really enjoyed it.

Throughout the week the children have been experimenting with different objects to see which ones float and sink. They have recorded their finding and explain why things float and sink. The children have loved the finger frenzy with popping the bubble wrap. In The construction area the children have been exploring the Luna Park and how to make the cogs go round. We have also been mark making on the perspex frame with cotton buds. We have been using the vet role play into a hospital and been making each other better.

We have learnt the picture names for the Read write inc cards M-Maisie next to the moutain,A-Apple,S-Snake, d-dinosaur, t-tower, I-insect, n-net, p-pirate, g-girl, o-orange, C-caterpillar.

Jennie Jigsaw this week has been talking about never giving up and always reaching your goal.
