Hello everyone....

  


Hello everyone.....

We hope you have all had a wonderful weekend in the beautiful sunshine. 

This week we have been learning about our home country of England and maps. We have also been looking at the English currency. We have shared the story of Charlie and London Visit London. 

On Monday morning we made a victoria sponge cake to eat at snacktime in the afternoon. It was very yummy. We learnt that this a traditional cake for our home country.  In the afternoon we looked at a local map of Dorchester and found out where we lived in Dorchester compared to pre-school and our friends. We also learnt all about maps. 

On Tuesday we had kickboxing and we went on a flamingo adventure. We practiced our jumping, crawling, frog hops and balancing on one leg. We looked at a local map of Dorchester and found out where we lived in Dorchester compared to pre-school and our friends. We also learnt all about maps. In the afternoon we looked at England landmarks and then had a go at making them using a variety of construction. The children had a great imagination and created some amazing models.

We have made our own London buses which are on display.

Throughout the week we have enjoyed constructing with the playmobilo, magnetic shapes, toolo and magnetic lego.  In the number area we have been finding the different coins in the sand and sorting them into groups. we have been mark making on the whiteboards and practicing writing the diffrent sounds. We have also enjoyed making pretend cups of tea. In the small world area we have been playing with the small world London Scene. On our finger frenzy table this week we have been making towers and balancing marbles. We have been making cakes using playdough, gems, candles, numbers. We have had the school uniform and shoe shop role play area and the train set in room2.

As the sunny weather is appearing please could all children come to school with suncream on. Also we will reapply suncream after lunch if needed.


We are going to be exploring around the world from this week. We will be starting with England and then visiting other countries which our families have links to. If you would like to come in and talk to the children about a link to a country you have, please come and speak to Julia.


On Wednesday afternoon we have our story time session at 3.10pm. Everyone welcome. Please come to ready fr a 3.10 start.


On Thursday we have got our rescheduled Grandparents Elevenses. We look forward to seeing all the grandparents. Please come to main preschool entrance at 10.30am. Any questions, please come and speak to Julia.

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
