Hello everyone...

 Hello everyone.....

This week we have been learning about France and creating a Father's Day Surprise. We hope you all had a wonderful day and enjoyed the special treats.

On Monday morning we had the care home residents come and visit us at pre-school for a play outside. They bought us some very yummy biscuits and we showed them around our pre-school garden. They liked watching us play in the sand. A group of children visited the new roundhouse to do some daubing which they really enjoyed and got very muddy hands. We will be doing some more of this. A group of children had PE and practiced 6 different races for sports day.  In the afternoon we created our Father's Day cards.

On Tuesday we had kickboxing and we went on a adventure. In the afternoon a group of children who are attending Damers First school in September went to visit Reception. We listened to a story and had a great time playing in their outside area and classrooms. The other children made flapjacks for their Father's Day present.

On Wednesday morning a group of children went to the care home for a sing song, story and ate some yummy lemon drizzle cake.  Another group of children had PE and practiced the 6 races for Sports Day. In the afternoon another group of children made flapjacks.

On Thursday morning a group of children made flapjacks and in the afternoon a group of children who are attending POW in September went over to spend the afternoon in Reception. They had a great time exploring the classroom and having a play.

On Friday afternoon we went on the public bus into twon. We walked through town to the Borough Gardens. We enjoyed playing in the park. We then got an icecream and got on the bus to come back to pre-school. We had a wonderful time.

Throughout the week we have enjoyed constructing with the flower and fairy construction, wooden pebbles, transparent shapes and k'nex.  In the number area we have been exploring weight using a variety of scales. We have been using lots of capacity language e.g. lightest, heaviest and balance. We have been using the magnetic letters and boards to create our names.  In the small world area we have been playing with the princess castle, princesses and ponies. On our finger frenzy table this week we have been using the peg boards to create patterns and pictures. We have been making cakes using playdough, gems, candles, numbers. We have had the ice cream shop in room 2.
