Hello everyone.....

  Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had an amazing weekend. We have some very exciting news to announce...... Chloe's beautiful baby girl arrived on Saturday. We would like to congratulate Chloe and Callum on the birth of Sophia Florence Williams.

We have had a great week sharing the different versions of the story of the three little pigs at group time.

On Monday a group of children made cakes to take to the care home on Wednesday to share with the residents. We also learnt how to play piggy in the middle.

On Tuesday we created some story maps of Goldilocks and the three bears and the three little pigs. The children were amazing at retelling the story and drawing a story map as a team.

On Wednesday a small group had PE with Mr Treble we also continue to learn how to balance on different parts of our body. Another group went to visit at the care home which we all really enjoyed. We also loved playing in the small amount of snow we had. The children and adults were very excited. The children who went to the care home had great fun walking there in the snow.

On Thursday we made junk modelling houses for the 3 little pigs using a variety of tools and techniques in joining materials together. In the afternoon we did a great science experiment with the fan and hairdryer. We built the different type of houses e.g. straw, brick and sticks and explored what happened when you use the fan and hairdryer.

On Friday we created our poems for a Early Years poem competition and also went to soft play.

We have enjoyed constructing with the duplo and the transparent shapes with the wooden people. In the number area we have been exploring unlocking the numicon pieces with the correct numeral key.   We have enjoyed marking making in the sand using  sticks. We have also enjoyed using the playdough to make the three little pugs house using a variety of tools and materials including wooden bricks, lego and sticks. In the small world area we have been busy acting out the story of the three little pigs with the puppet theatre. The children are amazing with the repeated refrains of the story. We have continue to love bathing and caring for the dollies in the water tray this week. On our finger frenzy table this week we have been using tweezers to remove the pigs tails from the mud.

Throughout the week we have begun to learn the Read Write inc picture names in group time. We have learned Maisie next to the mountain, apple, snake, dinosaur, insect, net, pirate. We have also met Fred Frog. Fred Frog can only say sounds and no words. We have played the lots of Fred frog games. We have been doing lots of rhyming games and stories.
