Hello everyone...
We hope you have all had an amazing weekend enjoying the sunshine.
Last week we have loved sharing all the different spaces stories and information books which have come in.
On Monday morning and Tuesday morning we did junk modelling rockets. We created some great rockets using a variety of materials. On Monday and Wednesday afternoon we made fruit rockets. We were great at using the knives to cut up the fruit and threading our fruit onto the sticks. They looked very yummy.
On Tuesday morning a group of children had PE with Mr Treble and the children enjoyed using the apparatus and have become really confident at climbing. Also they enjoy the challenge of moving along the bench, climbing over the frame and sliding down the bench as a slide. Some children see themselves the challenge of jumping between the two benches. They were really resilient and kept on trying till they could do it. On Tuesday afternoon we used the Now Press Play headsets and did a drama about Space. It was all about collecting a special potion from space to make the dog Mars better.
On Wednesday morning we put our eggs into the incubator. We talked about the life cycle of a chicken and the process of hatching eggs. We are very excited.
On Thursday we had great fun making a bridge to go over the river and then we made a river for the ducks to float down. We had a great time exploring and creating different ways for the ducks to go down. We all got very wet!!!
On Friday it was Red nose down and we all dressed up as superhero's or in something red. We went over to school and did a dance in front of the green screen with Mr Spracklen. At group time we talked about where all the money we raised goes. We shared the story of a girl called Emma. In the afternoon we all made big red nose pizza's for our snacks. They were very yummy.
Throughout the week we have really enjoyed exploring the moon sand. We have loved watching the tadpoles and singing the song of 5 green and speckled frogs. We enjoyed playing the frog hop finger frenzy game with our friends. We have been busy creating monsters/animals with the duplo. We have all enjoyed sharing the different stories we have chosen at the library in the book corner. There are definitely some favourite ones.
We have been exploring the scales with different sized wooden blocks and been exploring heavier, lighter and how to balance the scales.

This week we are going to continue to watch the changes with the tadpoles, look after the eggs, make a surprise to bring home for Mother's Day. Also continue with finding out more about Space. We will be sharing lots of stories and songs about Spring and space.
