Hello everyone.....

Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. It was lovely to see lots of you at the summer fair. It was a great day and lots of fun had.

Last week we shared the story of Shark in the Park at group time which the children really enjoyed. By the end of the week the children were amazing at joining in with the repeated refrains and the actions. We also talked about who wrote the book and that they are called authors. We also talked about speech bubbles.
On Monday we made sharks with sharp teeth and used the scissors to create these. We practiced using scissors and how to hold them safely and correctly.
On Tuesday we had PE with Mr Treble and the second group went this week. We played lots of games involving following an instruction and using our listening ears. We also made fish biscuits to bring home. We did mixing and rolling the biscuit mixture out. We then used the fish cutters.
On Wednesday morning we did a science experiment where we watched what happened when you popped a paper fish in water and then again what happened when you popped a dab of fairy liquid on it's tail.
On Wednesday and Thursday we had great fun making our own telescopes with tubes and different coloured cellophane. We explored what happens when you look through the cellphone and how the objects changed colour. We took our telescopes on a walk around the school gardens recalling the story and using the positional language like up, down. We came across a shark in the school pond!!
On Friday afternoon we went an played on the trim trail and in the woods at school. We did lots of climbing, balancing and swinging.
Throughout the week we have enjoyed exploring the water tray with seaweed and sharks. We have also enjoying constructing with a variety of constructions toys. We made some duplo towers and copied the pattern cards. we have painted lots of pictures. We have been mark making in the blue grit. Also we have enjoyed exploring and playing outside.
On Wednesday we met out emotions monster and talked about different emotions. We also were able to make the different emotions using our own faces.
On Tuesday and Friday we met Reggie the Resilient Tortoise.
Here are some pictures of the week...
