Hello everyone,

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. Last week we had great fun learning all about shapes. We went on shape walks around the school looking for different shapes and using the iPad to take photos of the shapes we found. We have made a poster of all the shapes we have found. We have played shape bingo in small groups. We have made our own shape pictures using different shapes. We have also done some shape printing. We have enjoyed making models out of junk and are getting more creative with our models. We have enjoyed finding shapes in the sand. On Friday for Children in Need we made Pudsey masks which we enjoyed making and wearing. Also on Friday a group of children went to watch Year 2 Assembly. On Wednesday morning Helen bought in her ducklings and we noticed how much they have grown. On Thursday afternoon we went on the balance bikes around the school grounds. Our confidence has grown so much in using them. We have also played the shape bag game.

This week we will be continuing our learning about shape. We will be playing a game called name the shape which involves describing the shape and guessing what shape it is. We will be exploring 3d shapes. We will also be playing the pizza shape game and making our own pizzas to bring home. We will also be preparing for our post box trip (a surprise). We will be continuing making model with junk so please bring in any boxes, yogurt pots etc.
