Hello everyone,

We had a great first week back after half term. At the beginning of the week we talked about what we had been doing in half term during group time and then drawing a picture of our favourite thing we did in half term. It was lovely that so many children bought in pictures and leaflets of what they had been doing.
We have been making strawberry ice cream and mango fruit lollies and tasting out what we have made. We really enjoyed making them and tasting them. Yummy!!!
In group time we talked about our favourite flavour and made a tally. Chocolate ice cream was the most popular.
We have collaged or water coloured our choice of an ice cream in a cone or a bowl with our favourite flavour. We thought about the colours of our favourite ice cream and cone. We were all amazing at carefully painting within the lines and having good control of the paintbrush. (Our ice cream display will go up this week.)
The children have really enjoyed playing in the ice cream parlour role play shop. The have been the customer and the shop keeper. In Group time we have been looking at different coins and notes we may use in the shops and the value of each of the coins. They have been very interested in this and then have put it into practice in the role play shop.
On Thursday afternoon we had a surprise visitor... Tara from the Dorchester Opportunity Group bought in her corn snakes. The children really enjoyed looking at the snakes and finding out all about them. (Pictures will be up soon).

This week we will be making a surprise in the kitchens for Father's Day. We will also be making cards and talking about our dads and why they are special to us and how they help us. Will be putting all our words we come up with into a Tagxedo. We will be sharing lots of stories about Our dads. If you have any special dad's books please do bring them in.

Letter and Sounds:- A mixture of rhyming, initial sounds and musical instruments.

Home learning:- Have you got a favourite photo of your dad you would like to show your friends?

Notices:-

Thank you to everyone that came to the school fair on Saturday and to all the parents that helped with setting up, running a stall and tidying away at the end. It was lovely to see so many of our pre-school families there to support POWSA in fundraising for the Pre-school and the school. I will blog how much we raised later on in the week. Once again A BIG THANK YOU.

I hope you have all received your tea towel order form, if not do come and see me. We need to know by Tuesday 13th June of how many you would like. There is a template up in the window of the classroom. The ink colour will be green. Any questions please come and ask me or Terri Wilson (George W mum).

Stay and play will be on Wednesday 14th June starting from 8.30 till 9.00. Be lovely to see lots of you there.

The class photography will be on Monday 19th June at 9.00am. If your child does not usually attend preschool on this day you are very welcome to bring them in for the photography at 9.00am.

Hopefully we will get some beautiful sunny weather over the next 6 weeks so please make sure children are sun creamed and have a sun hat.

Its lovely to see so many wows coming in. The children really enjoy sharing their news and achievements.

Please do come and see the pre-school team if you have any questions.
Thanks
Julia and Pre-school team.
