Fireworks

Image result for fireworks
Hello everyone,

We have had a great week back from half term. It has been lovely to see what the children have been up to in half term and pictures of the children's cress seeds they have grown.

Last Week we read they story of Spinderella which the children really enjoyed. We did lots of counting and looking a group of objects with the same number. The children made their own spiders and webs to go with them which are now on display in room2.
Jennie Jigsaw has been asking the children about what they are good at and the children have given some lovely ideas which are on the jigsaw display. On Thursday morning we look at the month of November in the book of One year with Kipper. It was all about the cold frosty nights and blowing warm air into cold air. We went on our own adventure to look at the frost and blow our warm air out into cold air to see what happens. The children were really interested to see what happens. Pictures will be on display in the next couple of days.

This week we are going to be talking about fireworks and the sounds they make. We will be using the musical instruments to represent these sounds. we will also be exploring colours and mixing colours using paint to make our own firework pictures, making our own rockets using junk modelling and recognising our name and the letter sounds and decorating the letters using stars. On Monday we will be having our firework snack outside on logs around a pretend fire the children are going to make. We will be having hotdogs and fire coloured fruit.

World Nursery Rhyme week

This week it is world nursery rhyme week and we would like to take part. We have decided that on Tuesday and Friday we will be singing a range of our favourite nursery rhymes in different environments around the school grounds. If you and your child have a favourite nursery rhyme pop it on a piece of paper and post it in the nursery rhyme box.
Letters and sounds:- This week we will be playing a game of rhyming soup as a group. We will be finding words that rhyme together for our soup e.g. rat and bat.

Home learning:-

This week we will be doing some activities involving recognising our name. Over the week it would be fantastic if your child could find advertising logos they recognise in their environment. For example the Lidi sign or the McDonald sign. You may like to take a photo of it, drew it or cut out a picture.

Notices:-

On Thursday it is our stay and play morning starting at 8.30 and finishing at 9.00ish. It would be lovely to see you there.
Our library book bags are here and ready to go home. If you would like one please give your £2 deposit to myself or Caroline and then Sharon will ask your child to come and choose a book to take home. If there a problem with purchasing a book bag, please do come and see me.
On Monday morning if you would like Christmas cards, terry (George's mum) will be here to help you order them as the online system has crashed.
On Wednesday morning I am holding a coffee morning sharing our ideas about literacy and maths within pre-school and things you can do at home. Please do come along as it also an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have about this.
This Thursday is the last day to return photography orders.
