Hello everyone.....
We hope you have all had a wonderful weekend in the beautiful sunshine.
Throughout the week we have loved listening to the story of Jack and the beanstalk.
On Monday, we drew a large beanstalk outside with numbers on the leaves. We had a go at throwing bean bags to see how far we could throw them. We looked at the number we were able to throw to. We also continued with our grandparents invitations. We also had great fun acting the story out in the garden.
On Tuesday we had our kickboxing session and we went on a Jack and the beanstalk adventure which involved climbing a beanstalk, scaring the giant away. We also had stay and learn and it was was lovley to see our parents come and play.
On Wednesday morning a group of children visited the local care home for a singsong, story and cakes. We created our own creative art work of a beanstalk using leaf printing and sticks. In the afternoon we had our Relax Kids session with Sian.
On Thursday morning we created our own beanstalks using leaves, green card and PVA glue. In the afternoon small groups of children enjoyed their trip out to the postbox to post their grandparents invitiation.
On Friday morning we made our own beanstalks using green foil paper, pens, pencils, wax crayons and cotton wool. In the afternoon we had a delivery from the giant. He left us some footprints and a letter. We had to find things that were longer and shorter than his footprint. We used measure tapes and a variety of objects to measure with.
Throughout the week we have enjoyed constructing with the geomags, flower construction and wooden robot pieces. In the number area we have been exploring counting beans out 1-5. In the small world area we have been playing with the playmobil small world park. On our finger frenzy table this week we have been using the magnetic pinballs to make patterns and shapes. We have enjoyed the sound pots. We have done lots of painting including people, flowers. We have been making playdough people. We have really enjoyed playing outside in the beautiful sunshine and with our new outside resources.
We have now learnt all the Read Write Inc pictures and we are now focusing on Fred Frog and learning the sounds. This week we have learned the sound m. We have been doing lots of rhyming games and stories.
