Hello everyone,
We hope you have all had a lovely weekend with your families and friends.
Last week we had a great week exploring fireworks through a variety of activities. At group time we talked about fireworks e.g. sounds, colours etc. Also at group time we have started to look at rhyming.
On Tuesday we had bonfire snack in the forest school area. We had hotdogs for snack. We then toasted marshmallows on the camp fire and had S'mores. They were very yummy. We also sang songs around the camp fire. In the afternoon we had hot chocolate. In the afternoon we had great fun jumping in the leaves and hiding in the leaves. It was so much fun. We also made a group craft fire using tissue paper and sticks. We then recalled about our camp fire experience in the morning.
On Wednesday morning a group of children had PE with Colleen and Lauren. We used some equipment to practice jumping off and landing on two feet, balancing and climbing over and under. Another group went to the care home for a sing song and a yummy cake. The children are becoming more confident with talking to the residents. In the afternoon we did a science experiment using oil, water and food colouring in a jar. We put water in a jar and added coloured oil using pipettes to the water and observed what happened. The children made some great predictions.
On Thursday and Friday morning we used paint and different tools to explore different techniques in creating our own firework picture. We used toilet rolls, forks and cotton bud tips.
On Thursday morning we loved exploring the bath bombs in the water tray and watching the colours mix.
On Thursday and Friday afternoon we did a science experiment of how to melt chocolate. We made them into breadstick sparklers. Also on Friday afternoon we had a dance session with Razz.
Throughout the week we have been busy constructing with K'nex, geomag and magnetic shapes. Our finger frenzy this week has been using weaving pens and boards. We made all sorts of patterns and shapes using the threads and board. We have been mark making on the whiteboards. On the small world table for had a bonfire small world scene with wooden people. In our role play are we have been playing with the woodland and campfire scene along with the tent.
This week we met Reggie the Resilient Tortoise which is one of our Building learning Powers. Here is some information about Reggie the Resilient Tortoise:-

If you could provide us with a clearly marked water bottle that we can keep at preschool all year. This way we can ensure the children have access to fresh drinking water throughout the days with us. We find the children drink more from their own bottles. Can all drinks bottles be able to be placed in the dishwasher.
Every week there will be a blog about everything we have done during the week, what is happening at pre-school in the next week, home learning you may like to do and notices. This is normally published on a Sunday evening.
