Hello everyone.....

 Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a wonderful weekend with your family and friends.

On Monday and Tuesday morning at group time we talked about staying safe in the sun. The children came up with great ideas of staying safe in the sun and are now sun safety superstars. We also watched a video called George the sun safe superstars. Here is a link to watch it at home. Sun safety video. We then made poster about staying safe in the sun to put up in the pre-school playground. On Monday afternoon we did a science experiment using sun cream and black paper. We painted a picture using sun cream onto black paper and then put it out in the sun. We watched how the suncream protected the black paper and what happened where there was no suncream.  Also we drew ourselves for the pre-school Year 2 Teatowel. A letter will be coming home this week with information on how to order these. On Tuesday afternoon we did another science experiment about how to wash our hands properly to the tune of Happy Birthday. We loved doing this and asked to do it many times. On Wednesday a group of children visited the care home and had a lovely time singing songs and enjoyed eating cake. Another group had PE with Mr Treble playing team races in preparation for sports day. On Wednesday afternoon we went to the playtrail and had great fun playing on it. On Tuesday and Thursday morning at group time we talked about how to look after our teeth. On Thursday morning we all made our own pasta salads using a variety of healthy foods. we were great at cutting them up to put in our salad. On Friday morning we had a visit from Robyn's mum who is teacher. She talked about her job as a teacher and read us a lovely story. We also had a visit from Tommy's dad and Robyn's dad who are policemen. They came and talked about their job and also bought a police car for us to have a look at. We loved learning from our visitors. In the afternoon we had a yummy ice-cream fro snack. We have enjoyed constructing with the Knex, magnetic construction. In the number area we have been exploring 10's frame with a dice and rubber fruit.  We have been mark making on large paper on the floor.  We have been brushing the pretend teeth and learning about how to brush your teeth. On our finger frenzy table this week we have been making wands by wrapping wool and pipecleaners around a stick. We have been sorting different foods into healthy and unhealthy foods.  In the water tray we have  had numicon, gems, tweezers and foam numbers.  In our role play we have had a under the sea and a icecream role play shop.
