Hello everyone,

We listened to the Nativity story and talked about who was in the story. We made Christmas decorations to represent the Nativity story for the Christmas Tree festival at St George's Church.
On Tuesday we had Mr Treble and did lots of dancing which is all very much enjoyed. On Wednesday afternoon Year 3 came and joined us and we made willow lanterns for the parade on Friday. We worked fantastically as a team and created some great lanterns. Throughout the week in the afternoon we have been busy making jam jar lanterns. We have really enjoyed writing our breakfast invitations and going to visit the post box. We found some great shapes and numbers in our local environment. We talked about where we live and our local community. We hope you liked your invitations. The children enjoyed this so much we have been making up invitations on the drawing table and pretending to post them in our post box. Some fantastic mark making happened.
On Thursday afternoon we joined Reception for a Christmas carol sing song which we all enjoyed.

This week we are going on the bus to the Garden centre. This is going to be a great trip. We are all very excited. We will also be starting to make some Christmas surprises to bring home at the end of term. In the role play corner we have got Santa's Grotto for the children to explore and role play in. We will be busy learning the Christmas carols for our carol service. We will also be talking to our key workers about what we have enjoyed this term, What we have learned and what we would like to do next. We will also be learning some Christmas songs and sharing different Christmas stories.
