Hello everyone,
We hope you have all had a wondeful weekend enjoying the beautiful weather.
Last week we have loved sharing the story of Shark in the park on a windy day by Nick Sharrat in group time. The children were able to join in with the repeated refrains and do the actions for the positional language of the Timothy's telescope. We compared the difference between the front of the two books. We also learnt about speech bubbles.
On Monday, Thursday and Friday morning the children cooked some shark biscuits to bring home. The children used a variety of tools and cooking skills like mixing, rolling and cutting. We hope they were tasty.
On Monday afternoon we did a science experiment to explore which objects roll and don't roll. We had a great time exploring and finding out.
On Tuesday morning we started making our Christmas cards for Cauliflower cards. More information will follow in the next week about how to order these cards. In the afternoon we played the underwater counting game. Here is a link if you would like to play it at home.- Underwater counting game
On Wednesday morning one group went to the Care home for a sing song, story, Parachute and bubbles along with some yummy cake. Another group of children had PE in the main school hall with Colleen. The children are becoming really indepdent at putting on there own shoes and socks. In the afternoon we had our Relax Kids session with Sian Parsons. The children really enjoyed session.
On Thursday afternoon we carried out a floating and sinking experiment. We found about objects that sink and float and why they float or sink. Some great thinking.
On Friday afternoon we finished off our Christmas Cards and had a lovely time playing outside.
Throughout the week we have enjoyed our vocabluarly tray of objects. We have enjoyed playing with the small world playmobil park. We have been busy using our real life experiences to play in the role play home corner. On the finger frenzy table we were using spoons to spoon the marbles into the bottles. We have been busy constructing with the duplo, wooden animals bricks, transparent shapes and coloured blocks and pebbles. In the number area we have been exploring weighing using scales.
We met Respectful Raya which is one of our Building learning Powers. Here is some information about Respectful Raya:-
