Hello everyone......

Hello everyone...

We hope you have all had a wonderful half term and great time celebrating the Queens Jubilee. We look forward to hearing all about the children's half term adventures.

Our last week of term we had a great time swimming in the pool. It is lovely to see how confident the children have become in the water. Lots of children were blowing bubbles and showing me how they can go underwater.
We had a great week celebrating the Queens Jubilee. On Monday we made a Victoria sponge which is an English traditional food. The children really enjoyed making it and eating it for snack. We also experimented with making jelly and on Tuesday we had jelly, ice cream and strawberries for snack. It was very yummy. On Tuesday we had PE with Mr Treble and we played a variety of games on the school field in particular team running races. In the afternoon we made a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and water to hide some jewels in. On Wednesday we made our own sandwiches for snack and practiced our spreading and cutting skills. We had a choice of cheese, cheese and cucumber and jam sandwiches. We also drew portraits of the queen. This are up on display in our classroom. In the afternoon we did a science experiment of putting vinegar on our hidden jewel mixture and discovered what happened. On Thursday we had Yorkshire pudding and sausages for snack. A group of children made some yummy jam tarts to bring home.
On Friday we had a great big party. We all came dressed in blue, white and red. We all made a crown to  wear to the party. We had a big picnic lunch at the front of the school and then watched the cardboard queen arrive. We all had a dance and sate a yummy cake.
Throughout the week we really enjoyed playing with the spinners on the finger frenzy table. We made playdough crowns and decorated them with gems. We also made the queen a cake with candles out of playdough. We also did lots of constructing with the stickle brick, wooden animal bricks and wooden blocks. We used dried blue, red and white rice to mark make in.

This term we are going to be exploring the season of summer and the seaside. We have lots of great leaning and activities planned.

Home learning:-

Fred asks the children to point to various things in the environment

  1. Say ‘Fred wants you to point to the ‘c-l-o-ck’.

  2. Ask children to say ‘c-l-o-ck’. Pause to see if they can blend and point to the clock.

  3. Say ‘c-l-o-ck, clock’. Ask children to repeat.

-Can you play a game which involves taking turns?

-Can you go on a letter sounds hunt?

-Can you bring a picture in from your half term adventures?
