Last week we had a great week listening to lots of seaside stories which the children have bought in. On Tuesday morning we had the beach lifeguards come and visit us and talked about beach safety. The children learnt about the different flags, what to do if you get lost on the beach and what the lifeguards do. We have also made salt dough this week and have been creating mermaids using gems and beads. We have also been painting seaside pictures. We have also been creating our own seaside collage with a variety of resources. On Wednesday afternoon we went over to the teepee and listened to a variety of seaside music and drawing pictures to the music. On Thursday afternoon we went out on the balance bikes and also did some weeding in the garden. We picked some peas and had them for snack. On Friday we talked we read the story of Peppa's holiday and then talked about postcards. We then had a go at writing our own postcard and drawing a picture. During the week we have enjoyed playing ring games and party games like musical statues.
This week we are going to be continuing our theme of the seaside and in particular looking at what lives under the sea. If you have any stories please do bring them in. We are going to continue making our own postcards and listening to the story of Joe's holiday. We are also going to be reading the story of Sharing a shell and following this painting our own shells. We are going to be creating our own salt dough creatures to then paint and bring home. We will continue with our gardening and looking after pre-school pets.
