This week we are...

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a fantastic couple of days in the snow. It was great to see so many of you come into school on Thursday all dressed up for World Book Day. There were lots of brilliant characters from some of our favourite stories. We enjoyed sharing the children favourite stories. We also played out in the snow, which we all really enjoyed especially throwing snowballs. We have made some great snow pictures and paintings. On Wednesday some of the children went to the library of the bus. The children really enjoyed going on the big yellow bus. We learnt all about the library and what you do at the library. We choose some books to bring back to pre-school. The librarian read us a story and we sang some songs. This week we also read stories in different places like the roundhouse and soft play. 

This week we are going to start talking about Spring and the changes that are taking place. We are also going to be making some very special surprises for the weekend. We will be using our fine motor skills. 

Home Learning:

We will be talking about what happens to our bodies when we do exercise. 

Letters and Sounds:

Clapping sounds
Think of words using the letters ‘s, a, t, p, i, n’ (e.g. sat, pin, nip, pat, tap, pit, pip) and sound them out, clapping each phoneme with the children in unison, then blend the phonemes to make the whole word orally.

Notices 

Sorry we had to cancel the parents evening on the Thursday, I would like to reschedule it to this Thursday with the same times as before. Please come and see me if this is not convenient. 

As we had to cancel the Library trip on Thursday due to the weather, we will be rescheduling this trip and a new letter will come out soon. 

It was lovely to see some of you at Stay and Play on Wednesday.  This week Stay and Play will be on Thursday 8th March from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there.

Our Saturday Stay and Play morning is on the 10th March from 10.00-11.30am. After this we are having a community make over afternoon on the pre-school garden. It would be great to see all you. If you are able to come along and help, please let Julia know.

On Tuesday 13th March at 9.00am in the pre-school hall I will be holding a coffee morning talking about ICT in the early years and resources that you can access at home including Purple Mash. Hope to see lots of you there. 

On Friday 9th March POWSA are running an Easter Bingo evening. Doors open at 5.30pm and eyes down for 6.00pm. POWSA will be sending home a plate this week for donations of cakes for the refreshments for the evening. 

On Tuesday 13th March there is a POWSA meeting to discuss future events. This is in the school staff room at 7.30pm. Please ask Julia if you would like more information.
