Hello everyone...

Hi everyone....

We hope you have all had a wonderful weekend and it is lovely to see the beginning of lighter evenings.

This week we have enjoyed sharing the story of The Gingerbread Man and are great with joining in with the repeated refrains.

On Monday we made Gingerbread man puppets to retell the story. A group of children did PE and used the large climbing quipments in the preschool hall. On Monday afternoon we made cakes to take to the Care home on Wednesday.

On Tuesday morning we had Kickboxing and we went on a monkey adventure. We practiced our balancing, stance and kicking skills using the pads. We also did some sticking in our magical acheivements books. On Tuesday afternoon  we did a science experiment to explore what happened when you put a gingerbread man in a liquid of water, oil, Vinegar, Ketchup and milk. We talked about floating and sinking and the observations we made from the scienece experiment. We also made predictions.

On Wednesday morning a group of children went to the care home to sing and eat delicious cakes. The other children visited the planetarium to look at the planets and the stars. We really enjoyed this. In the afternoon we had Sian from Relax kids and we did a child's relaxation session. We really enjoyed this session. A group of children cooked some gingerbread man to bring home and decorate. We are really enjoying seeing the decorated Gingerbread Men pictures.

On Thurday and Friday morning diffrent groups of children have been cooking gingerbread men to bring home and decorate.

On Friday afternoon we used the Now Press Play headsets to act out the story of the gingerbread man. We did some great drama.

We have enjoyed constructing with the mobilo and mini octagons and magnetic lego. In the number area we have been matching the correct number of buttons to the numeral on the gingerbread man. We have enjoyed marking making in the ginger flour using our fingers. We have also enjoyed using the playdough to cut out gingerbread men using a variety of tools and materials including gems, buttons and pom poms. In the small world area we have been busy acting out the story of the Gingerbread man using the props and characters. The children are amazing with the repeated refrains of the story.  On our finger frenzy table this week we have been threading the gingerbread man outline with the skill of back to front and in and out. We are really enjoying our hospital role play area.
