Hello everyone,
We hope you have all had a lovely weekend with your families and friends despite all the rain we have had.
Last week we had a great week exploring hedgehogs, spiders and snow!
On Monday we read the story of Spinderella by Julia Donaldson. It was a story about spiders, football and numbers. In the afternoon we visited the school library to share some stories.
On Tuesday we started our monring with our first Stay and learn session and it was lovely to see you there. We read the story of Spinderella and then explored a variety of activities including finger frenzy, Hedgehog board game, puzzles, construction and creating a spider using a potatoe masher, paint and black paper. We then had a very special visitor which was a hedgehog. We learnt all about Daisy the hedgehog. We also had our very first kickboxing session and we went on an adventure as a mnkey to find some bananas. We had to climb some very tall trees which involved moving on our hands and feet. In the afternoon we did some cosmic kids yoga.
On Wednesday morning a group of children had PE with Julia and Lauren. We used some equipment to practice jumping off and landing on two feet, balancing and climbing over and under, stepping stones. We also went on an adventure in jungle and pretended to be diffrent types of animals. Another group went to the care home for a sing song and yummy cake. The children are becoming more confident with talking to the residents. In the afternoon we had a great time playing outside and playing whats the time Mr Wolf
On Thursday it was SNOW DAY. We had a great time playing out in the snow and sledging down the hill. We also created some amazing snow pictures. We enjoyed some yummy hot chocolate and enjoyed watching Tabby McTat.
On Friday we enjoyed playing outside exploring the snow and ice. We also made our very own snowman using paint and a variety of materials. In the afternoon we had Razz and we had a great time dancing and doing some drama.
Throughout the week we have been busy constructing with Popoids, zoo waffle and magnetic shapes with teddy bears. Our finger frenzy this week has been using tweezers to rescue the spiders from the web. On the small world table we have enjoyed the duplo forest friends. In our role play are we have been playing with the woodland and campfire scene along with the tent. We have been making spiders and bugs in the playdough. In the sand tray we have been finding the treasure.
This week we met Reggie the Resilient Tortoise which is one of our Building learning Powers. Please do tell us on a WOW or send a video in of your child being a Reggie at home. Here is some information about Reggie the Resilient Tortoise:-
