Hi Everyone.....
We hope you have all had an amazing weekend. We loved our surprise Christmas room at pre-school when we came in on Monday. We have loved playing in the Stick man role play area and the Christmas dress up shop. We love all the lights. We will continue to play in the Christmas room for the next two weeks. We have been listening to lots of Christmas stories and signing some Christmas songs at group time.
On Monday and Tuesday morning we went over to school to explore Narnia and walking through Narnia. On Wednesday a group of children went to visit the residents at care home. We sang songs, listened to a story and played with the parachute. We all enjoyed some yummy Christmas cake which we made at preschool The residents really enjoyed our cakes. We had a lovely time. Another group had PE with Colleen and Lauren and enjoyed exploring the climbing equipment.. On Thursday morning we had the school photograph come and take our photo at pre-school . In the afternoon we had great fun dancing around in the snowflakes. We also created snowy day pictures. On Friday afternoon a group of children went to St Georges Church to decorate the Christmas tree with the decorations we made. We had a good look around the church and at everyone else's decorated Christmas trees. Throughout the week we have been busy making christmas decorations for the christmas trees at St Georges Church and St Mary's Church.
Throughout the week we have been busy decorating our Christmas Cakes with icing and decorations. We used the skills of rolling out the icing, brushing the jam on and decorating with sprinkles using a pincer grip. We have also been doing some printing on our Christmas bags. Throughout the week we have been busy constructing with popoids, toolo and plastic straws. Our finger frenzy this week we have been using the geoboards and elastic bands to make shapes. We have been mark making on whiteboards. On the number table this week we have been giving the elephants the correct number of links to the numeral. We have been busy exploring shaving foam and cornflour.
We have been exploring rhyming throughout the week at group time with a variety of fun games and stories. Also we continue to talk about Reggie the Resilient Tortoise. In our Harold Scarf time this week we have been talking about sharing with our friends and kind hands and words.
Some pictures from this week...
This week we will be continuing with our Christmas activities including a trip to the garden centre, making mince pies for snack, creating some christmas decorations to bring home, sharing Christmas stories and lots more.
