 Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a lovely weekend. We had a great first week back at pre-school and loved sharing at group time our Christmas news and adventures. Throughout the week we have been mark making a picture from our Christmas holidays and sharing our news which an adult scribe for us. 

We have enjoyed constructing with the stickle bricks and the transparent shapes. In the number area we have been exploring the pegs and making towers with them. We have been using the vocabulary shortest and tallest. We also have been talking about repeating patterns. An adult model repeating patterns and then we made our own. We have enjoyed marking making on the whiteboard and painting pictures. We have also enjoyed exploring the playdough with pom pom, lolly pop sticks, gems and small farm animals. In the small world area we have been busy making up our own stories with the Winnie the Pooh small world. 

Throughout the week we have begun to learn the Read Write inc picture names in group time. We have learned Maisie next to the mountain, apple and snake. We have also met Fred Frog. Fred Frog can only say sounds and no words. We have played the game of Fred frog says h o p, j u m p etc. We have been doing lots of rhyming games and stories. 

On Wednesday a small group had PE with Mr Treble and we used the apparatus to move along in different ways and we also learnt how to balance on different parts of our body. We also play the floor is lava game.

For the next two weeks we are going to be sharing the story of The three little pigs and have some great activities planned including some science experiments, cooking, rhyming game and lots more

Stay and play this week is on Thursday 12th January 8.30-9.00am.  We also have a Saturday Stay and Play on Saturday 14th January 10-11.30am. Everyone welcome including younger and older siblings.

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
