Hello everyone

Hi everyone,

WOW, what a beautiful sunny weekend we have had. We hope you have all had a great weekend enjoying the wonderful weather.

Last week we listened to the story of The jolly postman along with other letter stories including Meerkat mail and Paddington's post. We have been creating special pictures to send to someone special in our family. A permission slip to walk to the postbox to post our special picture came home on Friday and if you were not in pre-school on Friday you will receive the letter when you are next in.We have also shared the story of the colour monster in small groups. On Tuesday afternoon we used cooking spices to paint with. We enjoyed smelling the different spices and creating pictures with them. We have also finished off our self portraits for the Pre-school Year 2 Tea Towel which you will be able order, more information to follow. Over the last two weeks during PE with Mr Treble we have been climbing the trees to rescue the ribbons. Mr Treble also set us the challenge of hiding the ribbons for our friends. On Wednesday with inspiration from the Paddington Post story we created our own maps .   We have enjoyed lots of outside play throughout the week. We created our own slide using the wooden planks down the slope  and also making ball runs with the guttering and pipes. We have been making lots of mud pies using different natural ingredients we have found. Throughout the week we have enjoyed playing with the oats and pretending to make porridge and flapjacks for the three bears. We experimented what happened when you add water to oats. Also we have been making play dough cakes with candles and numbers. We have enjoyed trying on different school uniforms in the role play area.

This week we will be sharing the story of the Dinosaur letter and continuing to create our special pictures to post. We will be walking to the post box to post our special pictures. Also we will be making something special to bring home for Fathers day which is next Sunday.  From the story of The jolly postman we are going to make some green frog powder.
