Hello everyone......

Hi Everyone,

We hope you have all had a great weekend with your families and friends. It is a rather wet and windy Sunday but it is lovely to see the daylight is lasting longer.

Last week we flew or boated all the way to Germany on Monday. Herbie's Dad came in on Monday morning and talked about some amazing facts about Germany and we learnt the colours and numbers in German. For snack we had German sausages and pretzel. We were great at trying new foods.
In the afternoon we made the German flag using tissue paper. We also watch Go Jetters and their trip to Brandenburg Gate.
On Tuesday a group had PE with Mr Treble and the large apparatus was out and we did lots of climbing and jumping off a block landing safely. Our confidence has grown so much with climbing and jumping off a high object. It was was great to see children be resilient and keep on trying with jumping off till they succeeded independently. We flew all the way to Australia and we watched Go Jetters at the Sydney Opera House. We talked about how it is summer and their night time there. We did some Australian dot art and we found out a Kangaroo can jump 9m. We measure out 9m in the playground and then measure how far we could jump. We also enjoyed mark making outside with chalks.
On Wednesday we flew off to the Artic and Antarctic and discovered where they are on the map and what animals live there. We also read the story of Penguins in the fridge. The children made their own penguins to put in the fridge. Some amazing scissors skills when cutting them out. The children also enjoyed naming their penguins. In the afternoon we did a science experiment with Ice. We took ice cubes outside and put them in different places to see which ice cubes melted quickest and slowest. Oscar had a great idea of burying his ice cube. The children cam up with some great ideas and language to describe what was happening.
On Thursday we flew off to the Philippines and Arthur's mum came in to tell us some amazing facts including about the foods, animals, tribes and lots more. We learnt some greetings, days of the week and numbers.  We also tried a Philippines treat which was made of coconut. It was really yummy and we are going to make some at pre-school. We then watched the Go Jetters and the chocolate. hills. It was very exciting as we had a zoom call with Zuben's dad who was in Belize. In the afternoon our new resources arrived and we went to school and collected them. Some great team work in getting them back to pre-school. We loved playing with our new resources including ladders, camp fire tripod and roadways.
On Friday we spent lots of time outside and visited the play trail and the big yellow slide. We all loved going down the big yellow slide.
Throughout the week we have been sticking in our photos in our magical achievement books and talking about what we were doing in the photo with our keyworkers.
We have been using hammers to bang in the golf tees in the polystyrene board. We have been constructing some great models using stickle bricks including planes, cars and kites. We have created some great habitats using the wooden blocks for the wild animals. We have also  be creating with the coloured arches, pebbles and people. We have been exploring and mark making with shaving foam paint on foil. Also we have been exploring the water tray with a range of resources and using lots of language full, half full etc. We have been busy exploring the different English coins in the sand and sorting them into groups. We are continuing to love our bus in the role play area and have been travelling to lots of places.

We have learnt the picture names for the Read write inc cards M-Maisie next to the moutain,A-Apple,S-Snake, d-dinosaur, t-tower, I-insect, n-net, p-pirate, g-girl, o-orange, C-caterpillar, K-kangroo, u-umbrella, b-boot, F-flower, E-egg l-leg, h-horse, r-robot, j-jack in box.
