Hello everyone,

Last week we enjoyed listening to the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. We had porridge for snack which we really enjoyed so much we had seconds. We also shared a story about harvest and about different seeds and grains we can harvest. On Monday we went to look at the tractor and the pretend cow. We had a go at milking the pretend cow and talked about how the milk gets from the cow to the shops. On Tuesday morning we went to the park with our teddies and the Thomas Hardye CACHE students. We played on the park equipment, had a teddy bear snack and played some teddy bear parachute games. Some pictures are up on display in the classroom. We also had PE with Mr Treble. We did some balancing with bean bags on our heads this week.  We have all been very busy in the kitchen cooking our own three bears biscuits to take home and decorate. It has been lovely to see photos of all the decorated bears. These are up on display in the classroom.  On Thursday morning some of us went swimming and had a great time gaining confidence in the pool. Photos up on display.  Reception joined us on Thursday afternoon and we did some Bear yoga with them and a visit to the play trail. In The afternoon we  started making our own teddy number line for the number area. We have also continued playing the teddy bear number game on the computer this week.

This week we are going to be continuing our topic of harvest. We are going to be doing some cooking  with the apples and pears we collected from the orchard. We will bring some home and also send some to harvest cafe. We are having a joint afternoon with Reception this week and doing some Autumn/Harvest activities, songs and stories. Last week we read a story about a scarecrow and the children would like to make their own scarecrow, so we will be making a scarecrow this week. We will be reading the story  The Scarecrow's Wedding.   We will be joining in with harvest assembly on Friday morning. We will be doing some harvest threading and lot's more exciting activities and learning this week.

Teddy is lost in the jungle

One child (the rescuer) is taken aside while a teddy bear is hidden somewhere in the room. Tell the other children they are going to guide the rescuer to the teddy by singing louder as the rescuer gets closer to, or quietly as the rescuer moves further away from the teddy. Alternatively lead the children in singing a familiar song, rhyme or jingle, speeding up and slowing down to guide the rescuer.
