Our favourite toys and stories
Hello everyone,
Last week we listened to the story of What the ladybird heard. We really enjoyed the story. We made our own ladybird with the same numbers of spots on each half of the ladybird. We were great at using the scissors, glue and paint to create these. We listened to the songs of what the ladybird heard and joined in with the words. We have really enjoyed visiting the guinea pigs, looking after them and holding them on our laps. We have been very busy watering our plants and eating lots of homegrown cucumbers. On Wednesday we spent the whole day in the Reception classroom as reception children were out on a school trip. We enjoyed exploring the different learning areas and outside space. We played on the balance bikes. On Friday morning we went to Year 1 class assembly which really enjoyed watching.
This week we are going to enjoy playing with all our favourite preschool toys and learning areas. We are going to be listening to our favourite stories. If you have a favourite story or toy please come and tell an adult. We are also going to be making our own slime... Which is going to be great fun. We will continue to look after the guinea pigs and chickens. We will be looking to see if our potatoes are ready. If the potatoes are ready we will be making potato salad to bring home.

Pre-school reports
Hello everyone,
I hope you enjoyed receiving your child's report this afternoon if you were in school today. If you were not in today you will receive your child's report when they are next in.
I hope they truly show how amazing each and every one of your children are and how much progress they have made this year in ALL areas. If you have any questions about the content please do not hesitate to come and speak to us in the morning.
In the repot we included some photos of your child along with a Tagxedo Chicken. The Tagxedo chicken is a programme where you can put words into a picture shape. In group time the children talked about all the different activities they have enjoyed doing this year in pre-school. I put their words into Tagxedo and choose a chicken shape as the children all enjoy our pre-school chickens.
If you would like to arrange a time to talk about your child's report and learning journey before their transition to school, please come and speak to me.
Many thanks
Julia

Pets
Hello everyone,
On Monday we began to create our banner for the main school hall. The children created a sun set using orange, yellow and red paint. On Monday afternoon we used the DEED resource box and talked about Fair-trade. We listened to a story about a coco farmer and what Fair Trade means. We also looked at the Charlie and Lola chocolate story. The children are very good at recognising Fair Trade foods and understanding what it means. We enjoyed trying some Fair Trade chocolate. On Tuesday the children cut out some safari animals and stuck them on the sunset. Some fantastic scissor skills. On Wednesday we looked at some African Jewellery and some pictures of African Jewellery. We talked about the colours and repeated patterns. The children then created their own African jewellery using paper plates and paint. In the afternoon we then created the second half of the banner. We looked at the houses that African people live in and talked about the similarities and differences to our houses. We then using brown paint and cotton buds to paint African houses on the banner and straw for the roofs.
On Thursday afternoon we had our first pre-school sports day with lots of fun races including egg and spoons, running, dressing up, wheelbarrow and hurdles races. It was a fantastic afternoon with lots of happy children enjoying it. We hope you enjoyed coming to watch too.
This week we are going to be talking about pets and how we look after our pets. We will be sharing lots of stories about pet. We are going to be getting a new pre-school pet at the end of the week.
