Hello everyone,
Last week we began talking about Easter. The child talked about what Easter means to them and the activities they would like to do at pre-school. They came up with some lovely ideas which we have started to do and will be continuing this week. We read some eater stories and poems. We have decorated a Easter egg shape with our chosen paint technique including marbling, printing and dots. We have been busy in the kitchen making Easter biscuits and printing some Easter bags to bring our Easter treats home in. In the afternoons we have been using Beebot which is a programmable robot toy. The children have really enjoyed this and learnt about positional language. We have been counting down till the eggs hatch and are very excited.
This week we will be continuing our Easter activities which will include Easter biscuits, Easter decorations and the children planing and carrying out a Easter egg hunt. We will be continuing with our Easter stories and songs. For snack we will be having some Hot Cross buns.
On Monday or Tuesday the eggs should be hatching, We will be observing the eggs and talking about what we can see and hear. I will be updating the blog with photos of the chicks and hopefully the hatching process. The children will be thinking about how to look after them and what the chicks will need. We will also be making a chick craft to bring home.
Home learning: After the Easter holiday we will be doing pirates and maps. The children recently have been interested in looking at maps and where people live and have been on holiday. If you visit somewhere and you are given a map it would be lovely for the children to bring them in and talk about where they have been. For example monkey world maps, train line maps etc.
