Hello everyone....

 Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had an amazing weekend. We loved our surprise Christmas room at pre-school when we came in on Monday. We have loved playing in the home corner, at the North Pole and the Christmas dress up shop. We love all the lights. We will continue to play in the Christmas room for the next two weeks. We have been listening to lots of Christmas stories and signing some Christmas songs at group time.

On Monday morning we had the school photograph come and take our photo at pre-school . On Monday afternoon we went over to school to look at the Christmas display and have a ride on the polar express train. It was great fun. On Tuesday morning we went to the Theatre to see the play of The Naughty Fox. It was an amazing show and every child really enjoyed it and participated. It was based on a story about a fox who did not share and he learnt to share. We then got the coach back to pre-school. On Wednesday a group of children went to visit the residents at a local residential home. We sang songs, listened to a story and played with the parachute. We all enjoyed a yummy fairy cake. We had a lovely time. Another group had PE with Mr Treble and played some games in the hall.  On Friday afternoon a group of children went to St Georges Church to decorate the Christmas tree with the decorations we made. We had a good look around the church and at everyone else's decorated Christmas trees.

Throughout the week we have been busy decorating our Christmas Cakes with icing and decorations. We used the skills of rolling out the icing, brushing the jam on and decorating with sprinkles using a pincer grip. We have also been doing some printing on our Christmas bags. We have all been painting our wooden people and exploring colour. We were very carefully at painting them and thinking about which colours to use and where. We have been making cloaks for them. We have loved playing chase the Elf and What's the time Mr Elf outside this week. On Thursday afternoon we made a Santa sleigh out of crates and tyres and delivered lots of presents. Throughout the week we have been busy constructing with mobilo, magnetic shape tiles and Zoo waffle. Our finger frenzy this week we have been decorating Christmas Trees with buttons and gems.  We have been mark making on the wrapped up boxes.  On the number table this week we have been wrapping up numicon pieces with Christmas paper. We have been busy making playdough cakes using the cupcake cases, gems, number cutters and candles.  We have been exploring the Christmas Sensory tray.

We have been exploring rhyming throughout the week at group time with a variety of fun games and stories. Also we continue to talk about Reggie the Resilient Tortoise. In our Harold Scarf time this week we have been talking about sharing with our friends and kind hands and words.

Some pictures from this week...

For the next 2 weeks we have got lots of exciting adventures to have including Christmas Crafts, swimming, a trip to the garden centre and cafe and lots of activities to support our topic of Christmas.
