Hello everyone....

 Hi everyone....

WOW.... What an INSPIRED TO LEARN year we have and we can't believe it is already our last week of pre-school. We have had so much fun and learnt many new things over the year. It has been magical watching each and every child's achievements and progress. This week we are going to be enjoying accessing our favourite learning experiences.

Here are some pictures from last week....

Predicted Extreme Heat

Thursday 14th July 2022

Dear Families,

The Met Office has extended an amber extreme heat warning for Sunday 17th July, Monday 18th July and Tuesday 19th July 2022, as temperatures will build this weekend and early next week for much of England and Wales.

The amber warning highlights likely adverse health effects for the public, not just limited to those most vulnerable to extreme heat.

To prepare for this, at The Prince of Wales School we will be following the government guidance on looking after children and those in early years settings during heatwaves, including the use of ventilation, keeping children hydrated, and avoiding vigorous physical activity. Teachers will be adapting their plans to reflect the heat warning.

To support our efforts, Monday and Tuesday will now be non-school uniform days at The Prince of Wales School. Instead of their usual school uniform, children should wear loose, light coloured clothing and sun hats with wide brims where possible.

As always at this time of the year, please ensure that sunscreen is applied generously before school and that you provide your child with plenty of water.

We thank you in advance for your support in keeping everyone safe at this time.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Gary Spracklen - Headteacher

Hello everyone...

 Hi Everyone,

We hope you have all had a glorious weekend in the beautiful sunshine.

On Monday we had great fun playing walk the plank outside using crates and a wooden plank. The children jumped off different heights of stacked crates onto the grass. The children really challenged themselves. It was lots of fun. In the afternoon we had a great time exploring bubbles. We made some enormous bubbles with the hoops and some smaller ones with pipe cleaners. On Tuesday morning we had our sports day. The children were totally amazing and were really resilient. The children did egg and spoon races, sack race, running race, relay race and bean bag throwing. Thank you for all coming to watch. In The afternoon we did a mud experiment. We made magic mud potions with mud, powder paint, bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. On Thursday morning we walked to Sharon's house and had a lovely surprise of watching the trains go around her garden. We had snack and listened to a Thomas story. We then got to watch Thomas and Henry trains go around Sharon's garden. We really enjoyed watching the trains and finding out how they work. On Thursday afternoon we loved playing with Leo bubble gun and making lots more bubbles in the garden.  On Friday morning we had a visit from 2 policeman who came into pre-school and talked about their role as a policeman and how they keep us self. We also got to go and look at a police car and to see what's inside a price car. We loved playing with the sirens. We then enjoyed role playing what we had learnt about the role of a policeman.

Throughout the week we have loved making pretend ice creams with the playdough, cones, scoops and sprinkles. In the water tray we have been busy constructing with foam and plastic shaped blocks. On our finger frenzy table we have been practicing using the screwdriver to screw the screws into the wood. We have been mark making in the salt using our fingers. We have made pictures and practiced our sounds and name writing.

Hello everyone.....

Hi Everyone,

We hope you have all had a fabulous weekend. It was lovely to see lots of you at the summer fair yesterday.

Last week we continued to listen to a variety of seaside stories and enjoyed the stories that Emma and Elsie bought in.

Throughout the week we have been joining in with the sponsored bike and scooter laps. We either did the laps around the our preschool mound or the whole track of the daily mile in the school playground. We saw lots of amazing bike and scooter riding and lots of laps completed. Well done everyone. With the money raised we will be purchasing some new pedal bikes. Any sponsor money came be bought in next week.

On Monday and Tuesday morning we have been busy painting the sea creatures we made out of salt dough. We have been bringing these home. In the afternoon we created an underwater picture using the bubble painting from last week. On Tuesday morning we had PE with Mr Treble and had our last practice for sports day. We are amazing at team games and cheering our friends on. We look forward to showing you our skills on Tuesday. In the afternoon we went on a treasure hunt and we solved the clues. On Wednesday we made jelly fish out of junk modelling. On Thursday we made boats and explored to see if they floated or sank. We made predictions and discussed what was happening. On Friday we had Dance Day. We were totally awesome in our dancing skills and showcasing to our parents.

Throughout the week we have loved the shaving foam ice cream play. We used bowls of coloured shaving foam and small pebbles as sprinkles along with plastic cones and scopes to make ice cream.

We have been busy marking on the aqua pad and have been prating the sounds we have learnt.  We have enjoyed threading numerals onto strings and recognising the numerals and linking them to a fact like I'm 3. We have been busy constructing models using the transparent shapes along with the Duplo. In the water tray we have been matching the shape boats to the correct shaped sails along with catching fish using the magnetic rods. We have loved playing with the Winnie pooh small world scene.

In our Read write Inc groups with have been learning the following sounds:-
