24th April
Dear Parents,
We will be spending this week as we did last by encouraging the children to explore, learn and play outside. Taking part in lots of activities using number and literacy as well as physical games.
Many of the children enjoyed cooking last week, we will be continuing this week so everyone will have a turn. Our focus is using one handed tools with increasing control and eating a variety of foods.
The children also have some number and creative activities to enjoy with the theme of mini beasts, including ladybirds and caterpillars.
SOUNDS AND LETTERS.
We are going to continue using our book 'oi frog' for rhyming and alliteration. The children have enjoyed thinking of words to rhyme with their own names. Can you think of one at home? if so write it down and bring it in, What about other members of your family can you think of rhyming words to go with their names?
for example, frog/log, parrot/carrot, lion/iron, .
We may not be able to swim on Tuesday morning as we have our Grandparents elevenses, all grandparents welcome, please encourage them to come along.

frogs !!!!
17th April
Dear Parents,
last week we were learning about tadpoles and frogs. The children were very interested in finding out how they change from frogs spawn, and grow to frogs. We played a frog counting game, made tadpoles, drew tadpoles, listened to frog stories, looked at fictional books and sang frog songs! This coming week we have more activities about frogs, tadpoles and pond life.
Also last week the children have been looking at books about families and drawing pictures of some of the people in their family. We will continue this coming week, also including friendship groups. The children also have some activities to do next week working together with friends from their 'pre school family',
Its not too late to bring in a picture of your family it can be grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins etc, whoever is in your family.
SOUNDS AND LETTERS. we have a new book to share called 'oi frog'it is funny and has lots of rhyming in it. I am sure the children are going to enjoy it.

first week of the summer term
10th April
Welcome back to the summer term, at this time we always hope that the weather will be good and we will be able to take as much learning outside as possible.
To begin the week with the children we will be looking at our 'Kipper Year Book' to see what it says for April. So lots of Spring time activities including mini beasts, frogs and tadpoles.
There will be lots of opportunities to explore and learn with numicon, small lego projects, alliteration (sounds and letters) and much more.
We will also be observing the children's learning and planning from what we see they are enjoying, so lots to look out for in the coming term.
SWIMMING.
Because of the amount of children in on a Tuesday, we may have to review the swimming timetable, watch out for a letter or blog.
As the days become sunnier don't forget hats.
