Easter

20th March.
We had such a good week last week. It was great to see the children exploring and enjoying their learning in their own way, for example making space rockets, making bird posters, using different collage materials to make bird pictures, enjoying outside play with balloons and collecting sticks and twigs for our Easter crafts.
And now the last week of the spring term is upon us !
We have a busy week ahead finishing our Easter crafts before the end of the week.
The children will also have the opportunity to create their own Easter cards from their own design.,
They will be sorting and matching and counting in groups using Easter resources such as little rabbits, chicks and eggs.
Singing 'hot cross buns' and 'five currant buns' and taking part in Easter egg hunts.

No swimming Tuesday morning.

Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy the holidays, and we return on 11th April.

Easter and more!

13th March

Dear All,

With only just under 2 weeks until Easter we will start doing some crafts and enjoying activities to celebrate  Easter.
Also in the next 2 weeks I hope we will have plenty of time and weather to continue planting and preparing our outside space.
Some of the children are showing an interest in space, rockets, meteors etc, so we will be making rockets, and creating a 'space' interest area. Have you got anything to bring in to contribute? Perhaps you can find a picture in a newspaper or magazine to bring in so we can make a space poster/collage.

The children will be taking part in lots of activities to practice using one handed tools with increasing control, such as cutting, threading, planting and tools such as screwdrivers. (PD)

The children have also enjoyed measuring in length and this week we going to spend some time measuring by weight, using different size scales and lots of different resources. (MD shape space and measure).

continuing Eco Schools

6th March 2016
Dear Parents,
I hope everyone has had a great mothers day!!
This coming week we will be continuing with the activities we started last week.
The children will be making a bird poster, and updating our nature diary. So lots of cutting out, writing and mark making. They will also continue to make bird food and finish our planting for outside and the polytunnel.

The children will be carrying on with our threading challenge, we will measure all the threading's at the end of the week to see who has done the longest threading using beads or plastic clips, cotton reels or buttons.
Our book is a Charlie and Lola book about our planet, and with the children we have been talking about recycling.
Thank you to all those who have returned the bird count tally's, we will be making our graph next week.
