Last week we talked about flowers and plants, and began our summer planting which we will be continuing this coming week.
The children made the most of the weather and we spent a couple of lovely sessions on the school field playing games and enjoying the space.
This coming week we are going to enjoy lots of number games and activities, puzzles and cooking.
We will be counting, looking at numerals and patterns.
SOUNDS AND LETTERS lots of number songs, rhymes and stories and listening to different styles of music.
JIGSAW we continue to try to be the best friends we can be.

flowers and gardening
The past week we have been gardening and getting ready for planting.
Some of the children enjoyed the visit to the life education van where we talked about and learnt about energy and our bodies.
On Thursday morning Julia brought in her baby chicks for us to see. She has promised to bring them back another day for those who missed them.
This week we will continue to learn about seeds, how they grow, what they need to grow and the names of the different parts of a plant, eg root, petal etc.
The children will have the opportunity to look at all the different parts through the microscope and magnifying glasses.
MD. We will be playing number games and also learning with activities using numicon. We will also be making our breakfast graph, so if you haven't done a WOW telling us what is your favourite healthy breakfast its not too late!
SOUNDS AND LETTERS. Last week we learnt a new song called rat a tat tat. This coming week we are going to learn to play an instrument whilst singing the song.
JIGSAW we are all trying to be the best friends we can be.
Hope you have all had your letter about the bake off and can find time next weekend to bake with your child. It will be lots of fun, and its for such a good cause, SENSE, which is a great charity for blind and deaf children and adults.

starting the summer term
Welcome back to the summer term. Lets hope it lives up to its name and we have some lovely weather to be able to take our learning outside as much as possible.
This coming week some of the children will be able to visit the life education van when it visits school. To extend the children's learning within the topic of the visit we will be talking about looking after ourselves, healthy breakfasts and energy for our bodies. (PD health and self care)
WOW. why not bring in a wow telling us about your favourite healthy breakfasts at home. If we get enough WOW'S we plan to make a graph. (MD and PD)
This week we also plan to prepare our outside space ready to plant lots of lovely vegetables and herbs.
We will be starting to plant a pizza garden (tomatoes, herbs etc) ready for making pizzas later on in the term.
JIGSAW This half term we will be concentrating on frienships and getting on together and being the best friend we can be.
SOUNDS AND LETTERS. We will be listening ! that is listening whilst someone is talking, listening to hear different sounds in words, listening for rhymes in songs and stories, and listening to music.
Do not forget if you have been given a sun cream letter to return it signed asap. it is very important we have permission to sun cream your child. Also as the sun shines do not forget a sun hat.
